Brian Best spent over 35
years in sales and marketing management and has been a professional
speaker and part-time actor.
In 1992 he was granted the Archbishop's Authority as a Lay
Reader (Preacher) in the Diocese of Sydney.
Brian believes that couples should be encouraged
to discuss the form they would like their marriage service to take,
be it a 'grand ceremony' or a 'quiet wedding' and visits them at
home for a personal first interview to arrange
this.
At this time the bride
and groom decide which words, poems, readings and, if required,
prayers and blessings are to be used.

Also, at this interview,
Brian will complete the Application of Intended Marriage Form
which must be lodged, at least, one month and one day before
the selected wedding date. Brian's wish is that you have a
worry free, beautiful ceremony which you, your relations
and guests will never forget. |

This service is structured
on the Australian Prayer Book and meets with approval from parents
who do not wish, or who are unable to arrange, for a traditional
church function. Brian is a
licensed Lay Reader and holds a Certificate in Theology from Moore
College, Sydney. Many attendees at these services have described
them as "a beautiful ceremony". |

A personally designed service for any
couple who wish to express again the promises they made to each
other, one, five, twenty-five or even fifty or more years
before. |

Shortly after being appointed a Civil Marriage
Celebrant in 1995, Brian was accepted as a member of the Association
of All Authorised Civil Marriage Celebrants Nationwide
Inc.
Brian recognised that being in such a group gave many
benefits including: learning from the more experienced, sharing in
'back up' for unexpected sickness or accidents of celebrants and
'networking' with those of similar outlook and
standards.
In 1996 Brian was elected as Vice President
and began working to advance the association and improve
the standards and status of its members.
The following two years saw his
re-election to the position of V P and in February 1999
he was elected President of the Association.
Brian will continue to work for
AAACMC-N Inc. and its members whilst endeavouring to enhance
the standards of all Authorised Civil Marriage Celebrants
throughout Australia.
Brian restricts his activities to
the Northern Rivers of New South Wales ie. Ballina, Lismore,
Casino and surrounding areas. Travel costs for long distances
would be negotiable.
